OMAHA, Nebraska -- Brandon Berger belted a grand slam and Wes Obermuller pitched seven strong innings to win his fifth game of the season as the Omaha Royals beat the New Orleans Zephyrs, 5-2 on Tuesday afternoon in Omaha.

Berger, who has gone 11-for-26 in seven games since joining Omaha from Kansas City, hit his third home run of the season in the fourth inning after Rodrigo Rosario walked a batter and hit two others. Obermuller (5-3) allowed an unearned run and seven hits while walking two and striking out four. Aaron Guiel hit his third homer of the season in the sixth inning and Morgan Burkhart singled twice for the Royals, who had lost 13 of their previous 15. Jason Gilfillan picked up his fifth save of the season with two scoreless innings.

Royce Huffman and Raul Chavez had two hits each for New Orleans, which concluded a home-and-home, eight-game series against Omaha with five wins. Rosario (3-4), who had allowed only eight runs in his last six starts, allowed six hits and five runs over 7 2/3 innings and was tagged with the loss.

The Zephyrs will begin an eight game home stand on Thursday May 15th at 7:05 p.m. as the Z's face the Fresno Grizzlies, the Class AAA Pacific Coast League affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. Right Hander Doug Sessions (0-0, 2.90) is scheduled to start for the Zephyrs against Fresno Left hander Kevin Pickford (3-3, 4.63).
