
Patterson Pitches Tucson to Win in Vegas

John Patterson improved to 5-1 Tuesday night throwing seven solid innings, lifting Tucson to a 4-1 win over the Las Vegas 51's at Cashman Field. Patterson only allowed a seventh inning home run to Chin-Feng Chen while striking out six.
Tucson split the four-game series in Las Vegas. The 51's, owners of the league's best record had taken three of four in their five previous home series.
Tim Olson started the scoring for the Sidewinders in the second inning with a solo home run, his first Triple-A long ball. Mike Bell added a run scoring single later in the inning for a 2-0 lead.
Tucson plated two more runs in the sixth. Robby Hammock's sacrifice fly scored Chad Tracy. Doug DeVore added an RBI double to push the lead to 4-0.
Jose Valverde threw a scoreless ninth for his second save of the year.
Tucson improved to 17-20, nine games back of Las Vegas in the PCL South. The Sidewinders will be off Wednesday before returning home Thursday night.
