Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals, affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and AHL's Manchester Monarchs, have announced that forward David Masse has been reassigned by Hershey (AHL), defenseman Adam Borzecki has served his five-game suspension and rookie center Rob Hisey has been activated off the seven-day injured reserve. The Royals have placed forward Jamie O'Leary on the seven-day injured reserve.

Masse played in his 46th game with Hershey last night as the Bears fell to Philadelphia 4-1. The Montreal, Quebec native had appeared in 45 games, prior to last night, with Hershey and tallied 12 goals, seven on the power play, and 20 points. His three game-winning goals rank second on the club behind leading-scorer Eric Perrin (7). The 6-foot-1, 190-pound forward has skated in just 25 games with Reading this season and posted eight goals and nineteen points. The second-year professional did appear in game one of the North Division Semifinals and is expected in the line up tonight for game two at 7:05 p.m. Masse was the hottest Royal offensively ending the regular season on a ten-game scoring streak (5-9=14).

Borzecki returns to the Reading blue line after serving a five-game suspension for a major penalty for elbowing in the Royals 5-1 victory over Atlantic City on April 2. The suspension began on Tuesday April 5 and stretched through game one of the North Division Semifinals on Thursday April 14. Including the playoff contest, the Royals posted a 2-3-0 record without Borzecki in the line up. On Thursday, Borzecki welcomed his second child into the world – a baby girl seven pounds and five ounces (Olivia).

Rob Hisey, 20, will make his debut tonight for the Royals. The Ontario Hockey League standout hasn't appeared in a game since signing with Reading on April 6 due to an immigration snafu. Since 2001, Hisey has appeared in 270 OHL contests scoring 115 goals and 309 points along with 233 penalty minutes. The OHL All-Star appeared in 66 games this season with Erie and Barrie tallying 29 goals and 57 assists for 86 points with 81 penalty minutes. He finished 8th in the OHL scoring race this season.

Forward Jamie O'Leary returns to the injured reserve after appearing in game one of the North Division Semifinals on Thursday. The Needham, Massachusetts native has appeared in seven games with Reading in the regular season scoring two goals and three points along with six minutes in penalties.
