Roy and Vanek featured in trading card set

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... Rochester Americans center Derek Roy and left wing Thomas Vanek will be among 60 players featured in the 2004-05 AHL Future Stars trading card set.

Roy is in his second season with the Amerks and is second on the team with 35 points (10+25) in 41 games. In 2003-04, after staring the season Rochester, he played in 49 games with the Buffalo Sabres and competed in the National Hockey League's YoungStars Game. Vanek is in the midst of his first season of professional hockey and leads all rookies with 16 goals. He was the Sabres' first-round selection (fifth overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Vanek played his college hockey at the University of Minnesota and won a national championship in 2003.

The set, manufactured by Choice SportsCards of Aston, Pa., features action photos and career statistics of rising stars from all 28 AHL teams. The cards will be available for purchase in most AHL arenas and online at ahlstore.com and PHPA.com. Included in the set are:
