
Rox Sign Twins and Royals Draftees for 2019 Season

St. Cloud, MN - The St. Cloud Rox today announced the organization has signed two Major League Baseball draftees and SEC pitchers for the 2019 Northwoods League season.
Those players include freshman pitcher Seth Halvorsen (Missouri), who was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 30th round of the 2018 MLB Draft, and freshman pitcher Trae Robertson (Missouri), who was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 38th round of the 2018 MLB Draft.
Halvorsen, a Plymouth native, is in his freshman season at the University of Missouri in 2019. Prior to coming to Missouri, the right-handed pitcher played high school baseball at Heritage Christian Academy, where he was named Gatorade Minnesota Player of the Year, Prep Baseball Report Minnesota Player of the Year and Minnesota's "Mr. Baseball" during his senior year. He was also named a Rawlings/Perfect Game First-Team All-American, USA Today American Family Insurance All-USA Minnesota First-Team and Minnesota First-Team All-State. Halvorsen was slotted as the No. 1 recruit in Minnesota's Class of 2018 by Perfect Game and Prep Baseball Report and was ranked one of the top 40 players in the nation by Perfect Game. He has appeared in one game on the mound for Missouri so far this year, pitching one shutout inning, giving up no hits while striking out one against Florida A&M.
Robertson, a Missouri native, is currently in his freshman year at the University of Missouri this season. Before attending Missouri, the left-handed pitcher went to Hickman High School in Missouri, where he was named a 2018 Perfect Game Central Region Preseason All-American and was ranked as the No. 2 left-handed pitcher and No. 5 overall recruit in the state of Missouri among the Class of 2018. Robertson has appeared in one game on the mound for Missouri so far in 2019, pitching two shutout innings and giving up just one hit against Florida A&M.
Field Manager Augie Rodriguez and the Rox organization will continue to build the roster for the upcoming season. To date, the Rox have 14 players signed for the 2019 season.
