Green Bay Rockers News Release
Ashwaubenon, Wis. - The Green Bay Booyah have announced the addition of two Wagner Seahawks by signing infielder, Mike Ruggiero and pitcher, McCae Allen.
Ruggiero, a 6-foot-1, sophomore from Smithtown, New York, had an impressive opening weekend against a tough San Diego program. He started all three games at second base and went 5-9 with a double and two runs scored. Ruggiero will look to be a fixture in the Seahawks lineup all season long. Prior to his time at Wagner, Ruggiero had a decorated high school career. As a junior, he was a League 3 All-League Player and earned an All-Suffolk County League selection while hitting .342 with 15 RBIs.
Allen, a 6-foot-4, junior from Wichita, Kansas, is in his first season at Wagner. Previously, the righty spent two seasons at Neosho County Community College. He had an impressive freshman season where he posted an 8-2 record with a 4.57 ERA over 80.2 innings. Allen was named to the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference All-Second Team. Over the weekend, Allen made his first appearance as a Seahawk and tossed a scoreless inning against San Diego.
Wagner College will look to get back on track against East Tennessee State University as they head to Johnson City, Tennessee for a three-game set this weekend.
The Green Bay Booyah open up the season on Tuesday, May 28th at 7:05 in Traverse City, Michigan. Capital Credit Union Park will host the first Booyah home game against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters on Saturday June 1st at 7:05.
