Brockton Rox News Release
Brockton, MAâ The Rox sold the rights today to right-handed pitcher Robert Averette to the Baltimore Orioles.
Averette, 27, (3-1, 1.88) is in his eighth season of professional baseball. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 21st round of the 1997 draft. The Reds traded him to the Colorado Rockies for outfielder Brian L. Hunter, Aug. 6, 2000. He reached the Triple A level for both the Reds and Rockies organizations. The Rox purchased Averette from Shreveport of the independent Central League March 9, 2004.
