Rox Rout Stingers to Take Season Series

Willmar, MN- The Highway 23 Rivalry Trophy will once again stay in St. Cloud. Thanks to their best offensive output of the season, the Rox cruised to a 20-3 win Tuesday night. They ended the season series 5-3 against the Stingers, and clinched at least a share of the rivalry trophy in each of the past four seasons.

St. Cloud scored 4 runs in the 4th, 3 in the 5th and 6th and a new season-high 8 runs in the 7th inning. To keep it short and simple, the Rox tore the cover off the ball. They set new season-highs with 20 runs and 19 hits. Everyone got in on the hitting party too. All nine starters had at least one hit, and four players had three hits. In addition, eight players registered RBIs with six of those players having more than one.

Carlo Graffeo (Southeastern Louisiana) had a lot of run support to work with, but he controlled the Stingers offense and shut them down for most of his 6 innings pitched.
