Brockton Rox News Release

BROCKTON - The Brockton Rox announced today that David Sacchetti is resigning his post as General Manager of the team. Sacchetti is leaving the organization for personal reasons.

"I know this was a difficult decision for Dave," said Rox President Jim Lucas, "From day one, Dave has been an invaluable and integral member of the Rox organization. He improved our business on a daily basis with his boundless energy and sense of humor. We wish Dave tremendous success in all his future endeavors."

"This was a very tough decision for me. While I love the Rox and have many friends in the city of Brockton, whom I will miss very much; the time is right for me to move on," said Sacchetti who had been with the Rox since October 2001. Under his watch, the Rox set a league and franchise record for attendance in 2004, for which he was named the league's General Manager of the Year. Sacchetti spent 16 years in the airline industry before a chance meeting with Mike Veeck in 1995 led him into baseball.

Lucas announced that Andy Crossley, who has served as Assistant General Manager since August 2004, will take over as General Manager of the Rox.

"I am really pleased to be able to promote Andy to the position of GM," said Lucas. "He is enormously talented, enthusiastic, and very well liked throughout the organization and the community. We think he will just thrive in his new position."

Crossley joined the Rox in November 2003 as a sales representative and was responsible for season ticket and group sales. He served for three years as the assistant general manager of the Nashua (N.H.) Pride of the Atlantic League and also worked for the Boston Bulldogs and the Cape Cod Crusaders of the United Soccer League, and the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. He graduated from Emory University in 1997 with a degree in Russian Language and International Studies.

Brian Voelkel will take over as Assistant General Manager for the Rox. The 24 year-old is a 2003 Graduate of Babson College with a degree in Business. Voelkel, a Hanover, Massachusetts native, recently completed his second year with the Rox serving as Director of Ticket Sales.

"The combination of Crossley and Voelkel will provide the Rox with great talent and leadership," said Lucas. "We are constantly in the process of grooming our staff to take on new and larger responsibilities and these guys are ready."
