Rox Fall to the Loggers 10-4 Wednesday

La Crosse, Wis. - The St. Cloud Rox traveled to La Crosse Wednesday to take on the Loggers in a two game series rounding out their four game road stint. The Loggers took game one by a final score of 10-4.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the third as La Crosse put up three runs on three hits scoring two on a double and took a 3-0 lead off a single.

La Crosse continued to extend their lead in the bottom of the fourth posting six runs. Two doubles took the Loggers to a 5-0 lead over the Rox and a grand slam by Johnny Bekakis would extend their lead to 9-0 heading into the fifth.

The Rox were able to get things going in the top of the fifth as Dustin Breshears led off the inning earning a walk on five pitches. Tim Colwell was also walked moving Breshears to scoring position. An error by the Loggers pitcher would allow Blake Headley to reach first loading the bases for the Rox. On a groundout by Clay Williamson, Breshears would score making it a 9-1 game. Eric Loxtercamp also grounded out to second to score Colwell to trail the Loggers 9-2.

In the top of the sixth Daniel Comstock led off the inning getting hit by a pitch to take first but was putout as Chris Paul reached on a fielder's choice. Paul would steal second and then third to be followed by Vincent Jackson hitting a triple making it a 9-3 game. Breshears brought in Jackson to trail 9-4 off a sacrifice hit.

The Loggers sealed a 10-4 victory over the Rox in the bottom of the seventh scoring their final run of the game off a lead off home run by Michael Katz.

Earning the start on the mound for the Rox was Evan Wolf as he pitched three innings and was recorded with the loss. Also seeing action was Bryce Jackson for one inning and coming in to close out the game was Jason Condit for four innings.

The St. Cloud Rox (29-30, 15-9 Second Half) and the La Crosse Loggers (35-24, 14-10 Second Half) will be back in action Thursday night as they finish their two game series at Copeland Park. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. from Copeland Park.

The Rox will return home Friday for a three game home stand as they welcome the Rochester Honkers Friday and Saturday and the Willmar Stingers on Sunday.
