ST. PETERSBURG, FL - The Tampa Bay Rowdies will travel to face Major League Soccer's Orlando City SC in the Third Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, April 20 at Osceola County Stadium. The Open Cup clash is set to kick off at 7:00pm ET and will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Information on tickets for traveling fans looking to attend the showdown between the Rowdies and Orlando will be released at a later date.

Tampa Bay and Orlando have not met in a competitive match since 2014, when the Rowdies fell 4-1 away from home to their in-state rivals 4-1 in the Third Round of the U.S. Open Cup. The Rowdies entered this year's Open Cup at Al Lang Stadium this past Tuesday with a thorough 6-0 victory over USL League Two's The Villages SC.

The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is the oldest ongoing sporting competition in the country. A winner had been crowned for 106 straight years until the single-elimination tournament was forced to cancel the competition in 2020 and 2021 due to the global COVID pandemic. The Open Cup is open to both professional and amateur teams at all levels of American soccer. Tampa Bay has a record of 7 wins and 9 losses in the Open Cup since the club first started competing in the competition in 2010. The club's deepest run in the Open Cup came in 2013, as the Rowdies reached the Fourth Round after a memorable Third-Round victory over four-time Open Cup champion Seattle Sounders FC at Al Lang.

Before the Rowdies square off with Orlando in the Open Cup, they have two critical home matches against two of the USL Championship's top Eastern Conference sides. Miami FC comes to Al Lang Saturday, April 9, while FC Tulsa comes to town Saturday, April 16. Tickets for both league matches can be purchased at rowdiessoccer.com/tickets or by calling the Rowdies ticket office at 727-222-2000.
