Round Rock Express Plan Jay Miller Appreciation Night

August 18, 2010 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Ryan Sanders Baseball and the Round Rock Express Baseball Club announced Wednesday that Friday, Sept. 3, will be Jay Miller Appreciation Night at The Dell Diamond. Miller recently was named Senior Vice President of the Texas Rangers; his last day with the Express is Aug. 27.

Round Rock hosts the Albuquerque Isotopes for a 7:05 p.m. CDT first pitch that evening. It is the final Friday night game of the season. Festivities will begin well before first pitch, though, and fans are encouraged to arrive early to help show appreciation to Miller for his 11 seasons of leadership and Round Rock community involvement.

One way in which fans can express such appreciation is by writing Miller an official note of thanks. Special note cards are available at The Dell Diamond front office; the Express ask that fans use these note cards to write their favorite Express and/or Miller memory and return by Thursday, Aug. 26. These cards will be bound into a book and presented to Miller prior to the game. The cards also will be available at the Railyard and at guest services during the upcoming Aug. 21-24 home stand against Oklahoma City.

In addition to the note cards, sundry events at that night's game will relate to Miller and his service to the Express. Several organizational and community dignitaries will be on hand, as well. That night's postgame fireworks will be dedicated to Miller.
