FRISCO, Texas - Howdy, folks! On Saturday, August 25, the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers are changing their name to the "Frisco Corny Dogs" for one night only as part of State Fair Night at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
Corny Dogs are a staple of the State Fair of Texas, which runs from September 28-October 21. The Riders will pay tribute to the iconic food with special Corny Dogs jerseys and hats during the August 25th game against Midland at 7:05 p.m.
The new identity is part of State Fair Night, in which the Riders will honor everything great about the fair. As part of the festivities, there will be a carnival ride, inflatable midway games, along with special state fair videos and music. To top things off, Little Big Tex, the mascot of the State Fair of Texas, will be on hand to experience the fun. And, of course, Fletcher's Corny Dogs will be on hand with a special of $1 off all corny dogs.

"When people think of the State Fair of Texas, the first things that come to mind are Big Tex and Corny Dogs," said Riders President & General Manager Andy Milovich. "We're excited to represent this signature food on what should be another really special evening at Dr Pepper Ballpark."
The Corny Dogs jerseys will be auctioned during the game to benefit the State Fair of Texas Youth Livestock Auction Scholarship Program. Additionally, a limited number of Corny Dogs jerseys and hats will be available at the Riders Outpost team store.
While the Riders are a summer staple in DFW, The State Fair of Texas is one of the region's iconic fall attractions. With 24 consecutive days of family-friendly action, it's the nation's longest-running fair each year. It's an opportunity to celebrate so many great aspects of Texas, including agriculture, state history and traditions from across the Lone Star State. This year's theme is "Celebrating Texas Innovation," highlighting some of the great creations that have originated in the Lone Star State.
