Frisco RoughRiders News Release
The Frisco offense managed a season-low two hits as the RoughRiders were shutout at Dr Pepper Ballpark, 2-0
The RoughRiders collected a season-low two hits as San Antonio defeated Frisco 2-0 Wednesday night. Mitch Moreland and Dustin Majewski had the only hits for Frisco as the RoughRiders were held to their lowest hit total in over a year (May 18, 2008 - 1 hit).
San Antonio scored in the second inning off Frisco starter Matt Harrison who made a rehab appearance for the RoughRiders. The one run was all San Antonio needed as Frisco failed to advance a runner past second base. With two hits and a walk to Johnny Whittleman, the RoughRiders had just three baserunners in the game, the lowest of the season.
Harrison (0-1) suffered the loss, giving up the lone run of the game in just two innings, striking out one and making 34 pitches (23 strikes). Michael Ballard went the final seven innings for Frisco, striking out seven and walking just one, not allowing a run. San Antonio starter Ernesto Frieri (8-5) earned the win with seven shutout innings, striking out seven.
Moreland had the only extra-base hit for Frisco with a double. San Antonio struck out 11 RoughRiders during the game.
The RoughRiders will attempt to even the series at two on Thursday (7 p.m.) before leaving for a four-game series in Corpus Christi.
