Roughriders Honoured to Receive First Ever Chris Schultz Community Impact Award from Purolator

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are proud to announce that on Grey Cup Sunday at the Commissioners Brunch, President and CEO Craig Reynolds accepted the Chris Schultz Community Impact Award from Purolator on behalf of the Club. This honour highlights the Roughriders' outstanding commitment to the Purolator Tackle Hunger program and an unwavering dedication to supporting the community.
The Chris Schultz Community Impact Award, to be presented annually, recognizes the CFL team that demonstrates exceptional support for the Purolator Tackle Hunger program through food security advocacy, significant non-perishable food and monetary donations, and meaningful fan and community engagement.
"It's a pleasure to recognize the Saskatchewan Roughriders for their outstanding commitment to community and the Purolator Tackle Hunger program as the inaugural winners of the Chris Schultz Community Impact Award," said John Ferguson, President and CEO, Purolator.
"We are incredibly honoured to accept this first-ever award that represents our unwavering commitment to helping our community," Reynolds said. "We value our partnership with Purolator and the success we have had in helping to fight food insecurity in Saskatchewan."
Since 2003, the Roughriders have proudly partnered with Purolator to tackle hunger in Saskatchewan through the annual Purolator Tackle Hunger Game. The club is passionate about this program and knows that Rider Nation has been instrumental in its success. We have proudly spent 20-plus years fighting food insecurity in our community by collecting non-perishable and monetary donations from countless members of Rider Nation who are passionate about giving back.
This year, the Purolator Tackle Hunger Game, held on July 4 at Mosaic Stadium, saw fans rally around the cause making both non-perishable and monetary donations that resulted in 29,122 pounds of food for the Regina Food Bank.
This recognition from Purolator caps off an already remarkable year for Roughriders in the community, following the team's third consecutive Jake Gaudaur Veterans' Award win. This award, most recently presented to Roughriders long-snapper Jorgen Hus, honours a Canadian CFL player who best exemplifies attributes of Canada's veterans, including strength, perseverance and community spirit.
