Benesenville, Illinois- Danny Dries scored what proved to be the game winning goal with 57 seconds left in the second period as the RoughRiders defeated the host Chicago Steel 4-3 Tuesday night.

Dries buried a Doug Jones feed from the doorstep to cap off a run of three unanswered Rider goals.

Earlier in the second period the Riders' Brett Dickinson and Casey Wellman scored power play goals just eight seconds apart to set a team record for fastest two goals and erase a 3-1 Chicago lead. At 13:35 Dickinson fired the puck home from the left wing circle. Wellman evened the score at three by charging into the slot and snapping the puck past Chicago goaltender Pat McGann at the 13:43 mark.

The Riders were forced to battle from behind in the second period after the Steel had ripped off three straight goals themselves.

Robin Bergman's power play goal 2:20 into the game gave the Riders a 1-0 lead, but the advantage lasted only until Andy Miele triggered the Chicago run at 5:15 of the first period. Chicago was on the power play when Miele fired the puck in under the crossbar.

At 14:51 of the first the Steel took a 2-1 lead with another power play goal- a Mike Walsh blast from the blue line.

Dan Durham extended the lead to 3-1 at 2:04 of the second period. Durham charged into the goalmouth and buried a feed from Richard Manley.
