Junior Blue Jackets set record with eight goals

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Junior Blue Jackets scored more than six goals for the first time this season, setting a new record for goals in a game in an 8-3 win against the Indiana Ice at Dispatch Ice Haus Wednesday.

Ohio had 13 different players register at least one point, including six with two points and one with three. The Junior Blue Jackets (10-36-7, 27 pts.) took a 2-0 into the first intermission after goals by forward Charles Brockett and center Eric Rex.

In the second period, the teams combined to score seven goals, the Ice (24-22-5, 53 pts.) netted three goals and Ohio had four. Center Clark MacLean, forward Sean McCauley, forward Derek Roehl and center Tim Hall all added to their season goal totals in the middle frame, extending the Junior Blue Jackets lead to three goals.

Despite being down three goals, Indiana pulled its goaltender and Ohio capitalized, scoring two empty net goals in the final two minutes of the game. Forward Justin Cseter scored his first goal in an Ohio uniform and defenseman Dennis Urban completed the scoring at 19:55 of the final period.

The Junior Blue Jackets face the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders on Sunday at Nationwide Arena. The game was originally scheduled for 6 p.m. but was changed and the start time is set for 12:30 p.m.
