
RoughRiders defeat Black Hawks

Waterloo, Iowa- Kyle Flanagan scored the game winning goal with 2:25 left in the third period as the RoughRiders defeated the host Waterloo Black Hawks 4-3 Saturday night.
Flanagan rifled home Jeff Costello's centering pass to snap a 3-3 tie.
The Riders had taken a 3-2 lead into the third period only for the Black Hawks to even the score when J.T. Brown shoveled the puck in from the doorstep at 12:22 of the third.
The second period saw the Riders bounce back from a 2-0 deficit by ripping off three goals in a span of just four minutes and 42 seconds.
The Riders got on the scoreboard for the first time when Nick Oddo finished off a 2-on-1 at 10:08 of the second.
Cedar Rapids was on the power play when just 59 seconds later Mike Seidel's shot was deflected past Waterloo goaltender Joe Howe.
Zach Lehrke gave the Riders their first lead of the night at the 14:50 mark. Lehrke snapped the puck home from the slot after being set up by Cody Murphy.
The Black Hawks had gotten the jump on the Riders by converting their first two power plays. Waterloo jumped in front 1-0 when Derek Arnold buried a rebound at 11:42 of the first period.
The Hawks doubled the lead at 2:44 of the second period on Craig Smith's one timer from the left wing circle.
