Roughnecks Win against Wings

Philadelphia, PA - The Calgary Roughnecks extend a 5-0 first-quarter lead to an 18-13 victory over the Philadelphia Wings Saturday afternoon at the Wells Fargo Center.

Calgary held the Wings goalless for 17:48 until Jordan Hall opened scoring for the home team followed by two quick markers from Kiel Matisz (2g, 5a) who led Philadelphia offensively with seven points.

Dane Dobbie led the way for the Riggers with an 11-point effort (4g, 7a) followed by Curtis Dickson (4g, 6a) who tallied 10 points including a third-quarter hat trick in Calgary's highest scoring game of the 2018-19 campaign.

Nine different Roughnecks found the back of the net in the road win including Greg Harnett and Anthony Kalinich who each scored their first goal of the season.

Josh Currier (5g, 1a) had a team-best five goals, four of which were scored in the third-quarter, to help pull Philadelphia within six. Despite the rally from the Wings, the Roughnecks never relinquished control and went on to end the evening on a 4-0 run.

Calgary was 4-5 on the power play while Philadelphia, who have been eliminated from playoff consideration, went 4-9.

The Roughnecks will now return home to face-off against the Georgia Swarm on Friday, Apr. 12 for the SUPERHEROS Party.
