Langley, BC - The Calgary Roughnecks scored eight goals in the first half en route to a 13-8 road victory over the Vancouver Stealth Friday evening at the Langley Events Centre.

The Roughnecks built a commanding 6-0 first quarter lead with goals from Daryl Veltman (2), Matthew Dinsdale, Curtis Dickson, Dane Dobbie and Shawn Evans. Dobbie added three goals and four assists to finish the night with a game-leading eight points, while Dickson contributed with another two goals and set up four others for a seven-point effort. Geoff Snider, with one goal and a pair of helpers, and Jeff Shattler, with a single tally, also scored in the win.

After being held scoreless through the opening 15 minutes, Lewis Ratcliff and Brett Bucktooth each netted a goal for the Stealth who trailed 8-2 at the half. Vancouver closed the gap through the third and fourth quarters with goals from Rhys Duch (2), Tyler Digby, Jamie Lincoln and Ratcliff, who scored twice to complete the hat trick.

Calgary goaltender Mike Poulin turned aside 21 of 23 shots he faced through the first 30 minutes, finishing the game with 45 stops. Matt Roik and Tyler Richards split time in the Vancouver net, making a combined 36 saves in defeat.

The Roughnecks (7-5) will now return to the Scotiabank Saddledome to host the Minnesota Swarm (2-9) on Saturday, March 29 at 7:00 p.m. Individual game tickets are available at all Ticketmaster locations and the Scotiabank Saddledome box office.
