
Roughnecks Topple Mammoth

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks toppled the Colorado Mammoth 13-9 Saturday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome, in the second of back-to-back games which saw two Roughnecks end the night with four goals.
Calgary took a commanding lead early in the game, with Tyler Pace, Dan Taylor and Josh Currier all scoring within the first four minutes. Currier and Pace followed up with both their second goals of the night, whilst Christian Del Bianco kept Colorado scoreless to have the Roughnecks up 5-0 after the first. Calgary's offence dominated the second quarter adding six goals to Colorado's two.
The Mammoth answered back in the second half, stringing together five in a row to come within reach of the lead. The Roughnecks managed to hang on, with Tanner Cook and Pace adding two more goals and Del Bianco making 12 stops in the final frame to ensure the win.
Tyler Pace led the team in points tonight with seven from four goals and three assists, with Josh Currier also netting four goals. Tanner Cook and Jesse King came away with four assists each, whilst goaltender Christian Del Bianco also added three assists to take his season total to 15. Del Bianco made 44 saves off 53 shots, with the Roughnecks outscoring the Mammoth 55 to 53.
The Roughnecks are now 5-3 at the mid-way point of the 2022-23 NLL season.
The Calgary Roughnecks head west to Vancouver next weekend to take on the Warriors on Friday, February 16th. That match begins a string of road games for the team, who won't return to the Rough House until Friday, March 17th for the St Patrick's Day Party.
