Roughnecks Support YYC4Haiti Fundraiser Thursday Night

Calgary, AB- The Calgary Roughnecks are proud to support YYC4Haiti on Thursday, Jan. 28th at 5:30 p.m. at Flames Central. The event is partnered with the Red Cross in support of Haiti relief efforts.

The evening will be centered around the viewing of the Flames Pay-Per-View game versus the Pheonix Coyotes. It will also feature a silent auction, event raffle and a running fundraising total on the venue LED. It is not a ticketed event; any amount of donation will be collected at the door for entry. Red Cross donation boxes will also be situated throughout Flames Central.

Riggers Jeff Shattler, Carlton Schuss, Scott Carnegie and Andrew McBride will be attending the event from 6 to 8 p.m. to show their support for the cause. The Roughnecks have also donated prizes for the silent auction, including season tickets, "surprise" jerseys, Championship DVDs and more. Other donors include the Calgary Flames and the Calgary Hitmen.

The Canadian Red Cross is mobilizing to support relief efforts in Haiti-providing medical support, clean water, food and shelter to people who have lost everything. Those who wish to support relief efforts in Haiti may do so by attending the YYC4Haiti event, by donating online at www.redcross.ca, by calling toll-free 1-800-418-1111 or by visiting any Red Cross Office.

The Government of Canada will match dollar for dollar the contributions of individual Canadians to eligible organizations, including the Canadian Red Cross, in support of humanitarian, recovery and reconstruction efforts in Haiti, up to a total of $50 million.
