
Roughnecks Sign WR Gabe Osaze-Ediae & DL Keenan Kitchen for 2011 Season

MIDLAND, TX. : The West Texas Roughnecks have announced on Wednesday, November 17 that the organization has signed former Prairie View A&M wide receiver Gabe Osaze - Ediae and former Harding University defensive lineman Keenan Kitchen for the 2011 season. Gabe Osaze - Ediae spent four seasons with the Prairie View A&M program (2006 - 2009) and was a Second-Team All-SWAC selection following his senior season in 2009. Keenan Kitchen was a two-year starter at Harding University and finished in the top ten in total tackles, tackles-for-loss, and sacks as a senior in 2009.

As a senior in 2009, Gabe Osaze - Ediae led the Prairie View A&M program in several receiving categories including receptions (37), receiving yards (598), and touchdown receptions (8). The Austin, Texas native recorded three 100-yard receiving performances in 2009 including a season-best seven receptions for 106 yards and one touchdown against Alabama A&M in the regular season finale. Osaze - Ediae would average a career-best 16.2 yards a reception in 2009 and was a Second-Team All-SWAC selection following the end of the season.
"Gabe is a talented wide out and he will bring depth to our wide receiving corps. He has good size and speed, and he has the ability to become a factor in our passing game." stated West Texas Roughnecks Head Coach Chris Williams.
In 2008, Osaze - Ediae compiled an impressive junior season by leading the program with 32 receptions for 508 yards and four touchdowns in 10 games played. He would lead Prairie View A&M in average receiving yards a game (50.8), and record a team-best 83-yard reception. As a sophomore in 2007 Osaze - Ediae saw playing time in eight games and posted 23 receptions for 236 yards along with two touchdown receptions. During his freshman campaign in 2006 Osaze - Ediae caught 11 passes for 139 yards and one touchdown in eight games played. In his four seasons at Prairie View A&M, Osaze - Ediae posted a career total of 103 receptions for 1,481 yards and 15 touchdowns.
DL Keenan Kitchen Ht. 6'0", Wt. 300 lbs. Harding University -
Defensive lineman Keenan Kitchen was a two-year starter at Harding University and posted an impressive senior campaign in 2009 after redshirting in 2008. In 2009, Kitchen finished ninth on the team with 45.0 total tackles, and finished fourth with 5.5 tackles-for-loss. Kitchen additionally finished second on the team with 4.0 sacks in 11 games played in 2009.
Prior to redshirting in 2008, Kitchen played in 10 games with seven starts as a junior in 2007. Kitchen finished with 38.0 total tackles including 3.5 tackles-for-loss, and 2.0 sacks in 2007. Kitchen tied for the team lead among all defensive linemen with his 38.0 total tackles, and recorded at least two tackles in each of his last nine games.
"Keenan is an impressive defensive lineman who has good athletic abilities. He has the ability to provide pressure in the pocket and he can be an important factor in terms of containing the running game." explained Williams.
Prior to his time at Harding University, Kitchen played two seasons at Minnesota West Community College. As a sophomore at Minnesota West CC in 2006, Kitchen recorded 49.0 total tackles including 10.0 tackles-for-loss and 2.0 sacks. The Niagara Falls, NY native prepped at Wheatfield High School.
