
Roughnecks Sign Seven Players

Calgary, AB - Calgary Roughnecks General Manager, Alternate Governor and Director, Business Operations Mike Board announced today that the National Lacrosse League club has signed seven players in preparation for the 2014 season.
The Roughnecks have re-signed forward Daryl Veltman and transition player Peter McFetridge to one-year contracts. Calgary also signed 2013 draft selections Tor Reinholdt (first round, sixth overall) and Peter Dubenski (fourth round, 34th overall) and free agents Brett Baron (forward), Cam Copland (forward) and Joe Hall (forward) to one-year deals. All contracts are pending league approval.
Veltman, a native of Georgetown, Ontario, has spent three seasons with Calgary, recording 46 goals and 101 assists for 147 points along with collecting 78 loose balls in 42 games. The Roughnecks acquired the 28-year-old forward from the Boston Blazers in August 2010. Over five NLL seasons, Veltman has posted 289 points (103 goals, 186 assists) and collected 238 loose balls in 73 career games played with Boston and Calgary.
McFetridge, a Vancouver, British Columbia product, has spent his entire six-year NLL playing career with Calgary, recording 49 points (20 goals, 29 assists) and 112 penalty minutes while collecting 189 loose balls over 61 games played. The Roughnecks selected the 27-year-old transition player in the first round, 10th overall, in the 2007 NLL Entry Draft. He was a member of the 2009 NLL championship team.
