Calgary, AB (Tuesday, November 22, 2005) - The Calgary Roughnecks today signed noted tough guy Matt Green to a one year deal.

The pact is subject to National Lacrosse League approval.

"Matt has been plagued with injuries the past three years," said General Manager Kurt Silcott. "But he's looking look at training camp and we are hopeful his string of bad luck is over."

Silcott added, "Matt's been working out and his fitness level improves week by week. But we're still aware we have to be careful, so we're bringing him along slowly.

"We fully expect him to be back on the floor this season, perhaps as early as the season opener on January 13 against the Edmonton Rush."

Green, 28, is 6 ft. 2 in. and 225 lb. He lives in New Westminster, British Columbia.

Due largely to injuries, he has played only three games in the NLL over the past three years.

In his NLL career, Green has played in 24 games, registered 17 goals and nine assists, and collected 69 loose balls and 61 penalty minutes.
