
Wings sign first round pick Sean Greenhalgh

The Philadelphia Wings have signed forward Sean Greenhalgh for the 2006 season according to Wings General Manager and Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson. Greenhalgh was the Wings' first round pick (3rd overall) in the 2005 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
"I think Sean will be a great addition to the team," said Sanderson. " He is a highly offensive-minded player who will have an immediate scoring impact. "
Greenhalgh, played four seasons at Cornell University and was the 2005 Ivy League Player of the Year. He finished his senior season at Cornell with 47 points (32G, 15A). The, 5'10", 185 pound forward was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Year in 2002.
The Wings also signed forward Rob Van Beek. Van Beek, was drafted by the Wings in the first round (5th overall) in the 2004 NLL Entry Draft. He played in nine games and scored eight points (1G, 7A) prior to a season ending knee injury on March 24, 2005.
