Calgary Roughnecks News Release
The Calgary Roughnecks today announced that they have signed defenseman Neil Doddridge and resigned forwards John Kilbride, Jason Wulder and Kyle Goundry for the 2002-03 National Lacrosse League season.
Doddridge spent last season with the Eastern Division Washington Power where he appeared in just three games due to injury. With three championships in his 12-year professional career and fresh off a silver medal at the 2002 World Championships with Team Canada, Doddridge is expected to provide important veteran experience to the Roughnecks.
Wulder was a key part of the Roughnecks inaugural season playing in all 16 of the clubs games. The Calgary native finished third in team scoring with his 68 points (23 goals/45 Assists) last season. Kilbride, another Calgary native, appeared in 14 games with the Roughnecks last season recording 48 points (18 goals/30 assists).
Goundry, who was acquired in a trade last winter with the Vancouver Ravens, appeared in 12 games with the Roughnecks, four with the Ravens, tallying 63 points (19 goals, 44 assists).
"The combination of a strong core of returning players complimented by the addition of talented draft picks and experienced veterans signings has us very excited as we head into our second training camp and our second NLL season," said Roughnecks Assistant General Manager, Jim Dallenbach.
Meanwhile the Roughnecks are pleased to announce their 2002-03 training camp will be held at the Pengrowth Saddledome on Sunday, November 10 and Monday, November 11th, with the two Monday sessions open to the public. The Roughnecks will be announcing further training camp details in the coming days.
