Roughnecks in Action Thursday & Saturday

Tulsa Roughnecks FC will host a pair of Western Conference squads in two key matches at ONEOK Field this week. The Roughnecks will host the Orange County Blues on Thursday, July 9 and the first place Colorado Springs Switchbacks on Saturday, July 11.

Both matches are slated to begin at 7:30PM in downtown Tulsa.

The match with the Blues is presented by 2 Works for You and 92.1 The Beat. It will be a Thirsty Thursday with 16-ounce servings of soft drinks and 16-ounce servings of Bud and Bud Light on sale for only $2 each. In addition, original Roughnecks legend Victor Moreland will be in attendance. Victor will be located just inside the Arvest Entrance from 6:45-7:30pm to visit with fans, sign autographs and pose for photographs.

Pre-match activities on Thursday will begin at 5:00PM at Lefty's On Greenwood, across the street from ONEOK Field. The Roustabouts will lead the March to the Match at approximately 6:30PM.

Saturday's match will feature a Roughnecks Flag giveaway compliments of Tulsa's Channel 8, Pepsi and Cox Radio. The first 1,500 fans of all ages to enter through the Arvest and Oil Derrick Entrances will receive a full sized 3' x 5' orange and blue flag that features the Roughnecks crest. It is perfect for showing your support at your home or at the matches!

Saturday's pre-match activities will get underway at 5:00PM with the Roughnecks Rally at the Guthrie Green. The Roustabouts will lead the March to the Match at approximately 6:30PM.

NOTES: The Roustabouts are planning a bus trip down the turnpike to see the Roughnecks take on the Oklahoma City Energy on Saturday, July 18 in the now labeled, Black Gold Derby. The $30 package includes the bus ride from Tulsa to OKC and back, plus your match ticket. The Roustabouts will be selling the packages at the matches on both Thursday and Saturday. . . Colorado Springs will enter Saturday's match as the hottest team in the USL. The Switchbacks have won six matches in a row, outscoring their opponents 16-2 during that stretch. Five of the six victories have occurred at home. . .Orange County has won two of its past three games, including a home victory over the Oklahoma City Energy on July 1. . .The Roughnecks are only one of five teams in USL to have registered 200 total shots this season. Their 13.33 shots per match is second in the league. . .Tulsa has played one of the toughest league schedules so far this season. The first 15 opponents that the Roughnecks have played have a combined 104-89-46 record this campaign. Austin, Portland and Saint Louis are the only teams that Tulsa has played to have losing records.
