TULSA, Oklahoma - Tulsa Roughnecks FC will aim to continue their unbeaten streak as they host Austin Bold FC in USL Championship Western Conference play. Kickoff from ONEOK Field is set for 7:00 P.M. CST (Saturday, June 1st, 2019) and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Saturday's USL Championship match will be the first of two meetings in the league this season, with Austin Bold FC knocking Tulsa Roughnecks FC out of the US Open Cup. Tulsa Roughnecks FC currently sit at 6thplace in the Western Conference while Austin Bold FC are two points lower in 12thplace.
Tulsa Roughnecks FC come into the match unbeaten in their past 5 matches and unbeaten at ONEOK Field. The team carries a high scoring threat as their ranked 2ndin the league in shot conversion rate, trailing only to league leaders New Mexico United.
Austin Bold are coached by Brazilian, Marcelo Serrano. Serrano also serves as the Head Coach of the US Virgin Islands men's senior national team. Prior to taking the Austin Bold job, Serrano was an assistant coach for the US Youth u17 National team.Kleber Giacomazzi will be a player the Tulsa Roughnecks FC will need to keep in their sights. Giacomazzi, a 35-year-old Brazilian striker has made a career of finding the back of the net.
Tulsa Roughnecks FC are looking to find the back of the net after being held scoreless for the first time this season. Goal leader, Luca Lobo, looks to recapture reignite scoring ways as he has 7 on the season.
With 13 goals conceded this season and four clean sheets, Austin Bold FC is one of the better defensive teams in the league. However, Austin Bold FC is one of the lowest scoring teams with just 11 goals, compared to Tulsa Roughnecks FC's 22.
