Calgary, AB - The defending NLL champion Georgia Swarm defeated the Calgary Roughnecks 15-12 on Saturday evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
For the first time since Calgary's home-opening victory on Dec. 15, the Roughnecks carried the advantage into the halftime break. Led by Wesley Berg's hat-trick, Holden Cattoni (2), Curtis Dickson, Dane Dobbie and Riley Loewen all found the twine behind Swarm goaltender Mike Poulin. The Roughnecks matched a season-high first half effort, entering the intermission with an 8-6 mark on the scoreboard.
Georgia transformed the third quarter into a red light rally, stringing together six straight goals, while holding the home side to a trio of tallies from Berg, Dobbie and Tyson Bell.
The visiting Swarm maintained their lead through the final 15 minutes of play to improve to 2-3 on the season.
Berg added a pair of assists to finish the night with six points while Dobbie also hit six, setting up four goals for Calgary.
After a Week 7 bye, the 1-4 Roughnecks return to action against the undefeated Saskatchewan Rush (4-0) on Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
