
Roughnecks Down Mammoth 14-9

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks extended an 8-4 first half lead to a 14-9 win over the Colorado Mammoth on Saturday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Shawn Evans surpassed the 100-point plateau for the third consecutive season, scoring three goals and adding nine assists to lead the Roughnecks with an impressive 12 points. Daryl Veltman (4g, 2a) and Curtis Dickson (2g, 4a) both recorded six-point efforts while Jeff Shattler (3), Scott Carnegie and former Mammoth forward Sean Pollock also scored for Calgary.
Adam Jones led the visiting Mammoth with five tallies while Bob Snider (2), Eli McLaughlin and John Grant Jr. contributed with goals for Colorado.
Frankie Scigliano made 25 saves to pick up his third win of the season as Calgary improves to 4-10.
Geoff Snider dominated in the face-off circle, winning 18 of 26 draws for the home club.
The Roughnecks will now open a home-and-home series with the Edmonton Rush next Friday, Apr. 10, with a 7:30 p.m. faceoff at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The Roughnecks and Rush will then close out the weekend set on Saturday, Apr. 11 at 7:00 p.m. at Rexall Place in Edmonton.
