September 26, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
FC Tulsa News Release
The Tulsa Roughnecks FC is back on the road this Saturday, September 29 when it heads out west for its second of two meetings against Reno 1868 FC. Kickoff at Greater Nevada Stadium is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. CDT. It will be the second-to-last away match of the season for TRFC.
Tulsa will enter the game coming off a 1-1 home draw with the Swope Park Rangers. After the Roughnecks gave up a goal at the end of the first half, Eti Tavares delivered a perfect cross to Joaquin Rivas who buried the equalizer in the middle of the second half for his team-leading 11th goal. With the draw, TRFC improved to 3-8-5 with Michael Nsien as head coach.
Back on May 9, Paris Gee scored for the Roughnecks as they battled to a 1-1 draw against Reno at ONEOK Field. Reno is 6-5-3 at home this season, and is 2-1-2 over its last five. They are currently in eighth place and are fighting for a playoff spot in the Western Conference.
The Roughnecks are 1-2-2 over their last five games. Tulsa is still without a victory away from ONEOK Field, going 0-9-6 in 15 away matches this season.
Rivas has tied the Roughnecks franchise record for most goals in a season. His 11 goals match the mark set by Sammy Ochoa in 2016 and by Ian Svantesson last year.
Saturday's match will be streamed live on ESPN+ for all fans with a subscription to the service.
