Asheville Tourists News Release

(Asheville, NC) - The Asheville Tourists, Class-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, announced a series of roster moves on Saturday. A trio of players will be making their way to Asheville from Extended Spring Training, including a pair of 2008 draft picks. Three current Tourists players will be replaced on the active roster.

Relief pitcher Michael Marbry, signed as a free agent in 2006, will return to Asheville for his second stint as a Tourist. Marbry made his professional debut in Asheville in 2007, appearing in five games for the Tourists. Marbry spent the 2008 season with Tri City, going 2-0 with a 2.01 ERA in 31.1 innings.

Infielder Kiel Roling, the Rockies 6th round pick in the 2008 draft, played in just 18 professional games last season, but made the most of his opportunities. The Arizona State product hit .344 with four homeruns in that span, collecting three homeruns in his final four games.

The final addition to the Tourists roster is outfielder Delta Cleary, the Rockies 37th round pick in last year's draft. Cleary is a switch-hitter who played in 27 games for Casper in his first professional season in 2008. He hit .276 while patrolling center field, adding three homeruns and nine RBI. His impressive rookie campaign prompted Baseball America to name him the 6th best prospect in the Pioneer League and the 11th best prospect in the Rockies' system.

Current Tourists Bo Bowman and James Sims will return to Extended Spring Training to make room for the additions. Tourists relief pitcher Aaron Weatherford will be placed on the disabled list with a minor injury. Weatherford is 0-1 with a 4.76 ERA thus far for Asheville with 12 strikeouts in 11.1 innings of work.
