Hagerstown Suns News Release
Lakewood, NJ: The Hagerstown Suns (5-9) offense continued to struggle as the Lakewood BlueClaws (10-6) completed their sweep of the Suns with a 1-0 victory on Saturday.
The only run of the game came in the bottom of the ninth inning as Troy Hanzawa scored on an RBI single by Jeremy Hamilton off Suns reliever Osvaldo Rodriguez (0-2).
The Suns got a great start from pitcher Ricardo Pecina, as the left-hander tossed five and two thirds innings while allowing five hits and striking out four batters.
Pecina's counterpart, Tyler Cloyd, was also impressive for the BlueClaws. Cloyd lasted seven innings and struck out nine batters while allowing just four hits. Neither starter factored into the decision.
Reliever Ryan Bergh got the win for Lakewood by pitching two innings without allowing a baserunner and striking out two Suns hitters.
The Suns will return to action on Monday, April 27th at Municipal Stadium against the Lake County Captains. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM and gates will open at 5:35.
