
Roosters Sign Two At FL Tryout Camp

Washington, Pennsylvania - The 2004 Frontier League tryout camp, hosted by the Washington Wild Things, wrapped up Wednesday at Falconi Field in Washington, PA. Richmond Roosters Field Manager Chris Mongiardo and Assistant Coach Jared Howten attended the event. The Roosters had two first round picks, the fourth pick from a trade with the Windy City Thunderbolts during the 2003 season plus the Roosters original eighth pick.
FULL 2004 SPRING TRAING ROSTER
The Roosters selected as their fourth pick a right-hand pitcher from
Manteo, Illinois, Matt Tyson. Matt played four years at Eastern
Illinois University. The 23 year old rookie is 6'2" and 195lbs. The Roosters next first round pick, and the eight pick overall, was a
right-hand pitcher from Hamilton Ohio, Jamie Peters. Jamie went to
Miami University of Hamilton. He is 6'3", 225lbs, is 25 years old and
will also be a rookie. Players will report to spring training camp on Friday, May 7th and the
season opener for the 2004 season will be on Friday, May 21st at 6:35
p.m. as the Roosters take on the Chillicothe Paints at McBride Stadium.
A spectacular fireworks display will follow the season opener. Tickets
are on sale now at the McBride Stadium box office or at Side 1 Music in
Richmond.
