Trenton Titans News Release

TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Titans, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Philadelphia Flyers, have announced that rookie goalie Scott Wedgewood has been assigned to Albany (AHL) by New Jersey (NHL). In a separate transaction, The Flyers have assigned goalie Cal Heeter and forward Shane Harper to Trenton from AHL affiliate Adirondack.

Wedgewood (Brampton, Ontario) has been a rock between the pipes for the Titans in his rookie season. In 44 appearances, he is 17-21-3-2, with a 3.24 goals against (GA) and .898 save percentage. His first professional shutout (6-0, 29 saves versus Reading on February 23) was the first Trenton shutout in two years. His games, minutes (2,501), shots faced (1,329) and saves (1,194) were all on pace to break Trenton team records before his call-up.

Heeter, 24, is a rookie out of Ohio State. He has gone 8-13-2, with a 2.96 GA and a .906 save percentage at Adirondack. The St. Louis native made one preseason appearance this year with Trenton, stopping 30 in a 6-2, preseason win at Reading on October 6. In three regular season games with the Titans (January 24-February 10), he has a 1-1 mark, with a 3.21 GA and a .909 save percentage.

Like Heeter, Harper (Valencia, CA) is making his second appearance with the Titans this year. The third-year pro played three games in Trenton (January 2-10), getting two goals and four points. This season with the Phantoms, he has seven points (4 G, 3 A) in 41 games. He scored 13 goals in Adirondack last year, including the overtime winner over the Hershey Bears in the AHL Outdoor Classic, played at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, PA.

The Trenton Titans returned in the 2011-12 hockey season after a five year hiatus and boasted a 26.1% increase in attendance over the previous year, the largest of any team in the (then) 20-team ECHL. To learn about team events, promotions, tickets for the 2012-13 season or season ticket packages for 2013-14, call the Titans' offices at 609-341-1100, or go to TrentonTitansHockey.com.
