Edward Salcedo and Chris Garcia homered as the Rome Braves earned a split of their four-game series with Lexington by defeating the Legends 7-3 Saturday night in front of 6,299 fans at Whitaker Bankballpark.

Rome got on the board in the third inning. Garcia walked, Robby Hefflinger singled, and Bobby Rauh's single scored Garcia. After Elmer Reyes was hit by a pitch to load the bases, Christian Bethancourt grounded into a double play as Hefflinger scored and Rauh advanced to third. David Rohm then singled to drive in Rauh to give Rome a 3-0 lead.

The Braves extended their lead to 5-0 in the fourth. Jakob Delfonso was hit by a pitch, and Salcedo hit his fourth home run of the year.

Lexington answered with three runs in their half of the fourth. Chris Wallace and Mike Kvasnicka singled to lead off the inning. After Enrique Hernandez struck out, Daniel Adamson tripled to right field, scoring Wallace and Kvasnicka. Jhonny Medrano then doubled Adamson home and cut the Rome lead to 5-3.

Rome added one in the fifth when Evan Gattis' RBI single scored Bethancourt. Garcia's solo home run in the eighth gave the Braves their final margin.

Ryan Weber (1-0) picked up the win after going six innings and allowing three earned runs. Juan Minaya (1-4) was tagged with the loss for Lexington. The Legends head to Greensboro for a three game series beginning Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
