WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Football Club announced the contract extension of import receiver Romby Bryant today.
As per team policy, details of the agreement are not disclosed.
Bryant (6-1, 191, Tulsa '04, DOB: Dec. 21, 1979 in Oklahoma City, OK) was Winnipeg's leading receiver in several categories in 2008 - his first season with the club.
Bryant finished the campaign with 65 catches for 1,206 yards, and nine touchdowns in 18 games. His stats placed him first on the team in receiving yards, touchdowns, and yards-per-catch average.
League-wide, Bryant's 18.6 yards-per-catch-average ranked him third behind Edmonton's Kelly Campbell and Saskatchewan's Weston Dressler. His nine touchdown receptions tied him with Toronto's Arland Bruce for fifth place in the CFL in that category.
He also started in the East semi-final, and caught three balls for 104 yards and a score.
"We are very pleased to extend Romby's contract and look forward to the contributions he can make to our club," said head coach Mike Kelly.
