Rogues Tarnish Gems in Game One

MEDFORD, OR - As the smoke cleared in Medford, the Rogues and Klamath Falls Gems met for one game at Harry and David Field. The Gems got on the board first but the Rogues answered with five runs, all off of single to take game one, 5-1.

The Gems scored first in the fourth inning off a lead-off single by Anthony Roberts. The Rogues then answered with two runs in the bottom of the fifth, one of which was by a triple steal, with Brock Pradere stealing home. Nathan Etheridge and J.J. Kitaoka were brought in by a 2-RBI double by T.K. McWhertor in the seventh inning, putting the Rogues on top, 5-1.

Catcher T.K. McWhertor was very strong at the plate for the Rogues going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored, improving his ERA to .313. Brock Pradere went 2-for-4 with a run scored by stealing home plate, his sixth stolen base of the summer.

D.J. Wilson got the nod for the Rogues, his first start of the season. Wilson went seven innings, giving up two hits and one run. He struck out two and walked one, improving his ERA to 1.44. Wilson earned the win for the Rogues and Riley more got the loss for the Gems.
