Rogues Announce New Youth Academy Program

MEDFORD, OR: The Medford Rogues today announced the launch of the Junior Rogues Baseball Club. The Junior Rogues will begin play this spring with current Rogues head coach Sean Gallagher as the executive director.

The teams will be comprised of players from all over Southern Oregon and will compete in both local and travel tournaments throughout the spring, summer and fall. The Junior Rogues Baseball Club will present teams in the age groups of 10u through 14u, as well as create a high school elite program to bring high visibility to the high school players who have the desire to play at the next level.

"It has been my vision to galvanize the youth baseball community in the Rogue Valley since moving here in 2010 and the Medford Rogues decision to form the Junior Rogues is a giant step in that direction. The Junior Rogues Baseball Club will be the bridge connecting the dreams of our youngest players to those of our collegiate players. I am fully committed to build a program where kids have the complete freedom, without the fear of failure, to explore their full potential and ultimately shed a bright light on the talented ballplayers we have in Southern Oregon."

"We are very excited to tie our summer college baseball program into local youth baseball." Said Dave May General Manager of the Medford Rogues. May continued on to say "Our organizational mission is to become heavily involved in youth baseball in Southern Oregon and this is just another example of our dedication to those efforts."

In conjunction with this announcement the Rogues announced their spring camp dates, as well as try outs for the youth teams.

February 16th and 17th The first of 4 spring camps will take place at Harry and David Field and Charter Field at US Cellular Community Park. The February camp will serve as both a general skills camp and a tryout camp for all ages. Evaluations, assessments and introduction to all skills will take place over the 2 day event.

Each spring camp will be conducted over two days, each day 4 hours in length and will have a cost of $100.00 per athlete. Spring camps are scheduled for March 9th/10th , April 21st/22nd , and May 12th/13th .
