The Kelowna Falcons out-hit their opponents, but could not out-score them as the Corvallis Knights won Game 1 of the final home series for Kelowna by a 6-3 score.

The Knights started strong in the ballgame plating 2 in the first inning off of 3 hits and a Falcons error. Cameron Bishop drove in the first run for Corvallis, before Christian Donahue scored on an errant throw later in the inning.

Justin Flores came across the plate in the 2nd for the Falcons on a Knights error, but Corvallis responded by pushing a run across on a double steal in the 3rd.

Corvallis would open up a 6-1 lead in the 6th on back to back triples by Michael Farris and Bishop, while Clay Fisher picked up an RBI ground out. Ryan Matranga also scored on an Emilio Alcantar RBI single.

The Falcons added a run in each of the 7th and 8th innings thanks to RBI's from Vinny Esposito and Kyle Plantier.

Corey Nelson moved to 3-1 on the season for the Knights, scattering 12 hits over 8 innings of work while Harrison McGhee nailed down the save.

Nat Hamby took his first loss of the season.

The two teams return to action Wednesday and Thursday at Elks Stadium as the playoff push continues for both teams. First pitch is 6:35.
