Rogues Take Game Two

MEDFORD, OR - With seven scoreless innings pitched, Rogues starter John Forsythe led the Medford Rogues to an 8-0 win over Victoria in game two of a three-game series at Harry & David Field.

Designated hitter Kevin Davidson started things off for the Rogues in the first inning with a solo home run to take an early lead in the game. The home run was Davidson's fifth of the season and moves him in to a second-place tie for the league lead in home runs. Davidson has a one-RBI lead in the WCL with 27. Medford would add to the lead in third inning after a three run home run by Jared Casper making it a 4-0 lead.

Forsythe (2-0, 0.55) finished the night with seven innings pitched allowing six hits and two walks with four strikeouts to earn his second win of the season. Dillon Keene and Jeff Hardy finished the game in relief after a 103-pitch effort by Forsythe.

The Rogues went on to add four more runs on the night with six different players finishing the night with at least one RBI. Casper went 2-for-4 on the night with three RBIs and two runs scored while Davidson finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs.

Infielder A.J. Balta extended his team-record hitting streak to 10 games, going 1-for-2 with a run scored.

The Rogues sit 4.5 games out of playoff spot with a 16-19 record in the West Coast League while the HarbourCats fall to 15-16 on the season.

Medford looks to complete the series sweep over Victoria in Thursday's game with the first pitched scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
