
Rogues Drop Series to Walla Walla

MEDFORD, OR - Late-game struggles continued for the Medford Rogues as they were swept by the Walla Walla Sweets, losing 6-4 in the last game of the series at Harry and David Field.
The Rogues' losing streak continues as they fall to 9-8 overall and 4-8 in the West Coast League. With the win Walla Walla improve to 5-4 in the WCL.
Walla Walla scored their first run of the game off of a throwing error by Rogues right fielder Colin Sowers to take an early lead in the fourth inning.
Rogues starting pitcher Mike Bradshaw pitched 5 1/3 innings before being taken out due to an injury. He finished the night allowing four hits and one walk along with three strikeouts.
Medford had success behind the plate, totaling 10 hits on the night including two home runs. The first came from Rogues designated hitter Kevin Davidson who hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning followed by catcher Ryan Teel who tied the game at four with a home run in the seventh.
Davidson finished the night going 3-for-4 with three RBIs while Teel batted 2-for-4 with an RBI.
The Sweets regained the lead after a wild pitch by Rogues reliever Chase Tokunaga brought in the runner from second base making the lead 5-4. Walla Walla would add one more run in the top of the ninth before bringing Sean-Luke Brija to close the game.
The Rogues look to end their 5-game losing streak as they host the first game against the Corvallis Knights on Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. at Harry and David Field.
