Rocky Mountain Rage Weekly Update
February 18, 2008 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Rocky Mountain Rage News Release
Feb. 12 vs. Colorado Eagles, 5-3 Win - Rocky Mountain snapped a three-game losing skid in the first of a two-game, home-and-home series with Colorado. Colt King had a four-point night (1g-3a) and Scott Reid made 38 saves to help capture the team's first win since Feb. 2.
Feb. 13 @ Colorado Eagles, 6-3 Loss - In the finale of the home-and-home with Colorado, the Rage fell short trying to overcome a two-goal third-period deficit, ultimately giving up two empty-netters in the final minute.
Feb. 15 @ Arizona Sundogs, 4-2 Loss - Due to some timely special teams success by the Sundogs, Rocky Mountain fell behind, 3-0, after two periods and 4-0 mid-way through the third. The Rage rallied behind power play goals from Daymen Rycroft and Scott Wray to close within two with just under six minutes remaining in regulation and had more great pressure down the stretch, but the deficit was simply too much to overcome.
Feb. 16 @ Arizona Sundogs, 5-4 Overtime Loss - In a game that featured five lead changes, Rocky Mountain and Arizona headed to overtime for the third time in five head-to-head clashes. The 'Dogs' Mark Kolanos then picked the pocket of a Rage defenseman to free himself in the slot for the overtime winner at 4:17 of the extra session.

DIVISION RACE TIGHTENS AS SEASON REACHES ¾ POLE
Since winning their first three games out of the All-Star Break, the Rage have now gone winless in 10 of their last 13 as the team has reached the ¾ mark of the season with 48 games played. With a second home-and-home series in a span of two weeks looming with the Colorado Eagles, the Northwest Division's second-place club has crept within four points of division-leader Rocky Mountain with one game in hand. Despite the recent lack of W's, though, the Rage still have the second-best winning percentage in the CHL behind only the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs.
RYCROFT REACHES 40
Daymen Rycroft became the first player in the CHL to reach the 40-goal plateau this season when he scored the first of two power play goals during Saturday's overtime loss in Arizona. Rycroft begins the week leading the league with 41 goals overall, 21 power play markers, and nine game-winning goals. He is fourth in overall scoring with 69 points this year.
CAPTAIN CULLY RETURNS
Rocky Mountain captain Brent Cullaton returned over the weekend in Arizona following a seven-game absence due to injury. Having not played since Jan. 30, Cullaton recorded four assists in the two games against the Sundogs to raise his league-leading total to 58. He is currently third in the CHL with 70 total points this season.
20-GOAL MARK
Heading into last week, the Rage had only two 20-goal scorers: Rycroft and Scott Wray, who is tied for fourth in the CHL with 28 tallies. But during last Wednesday's clash with the Eagles, both Simon Watson and Trevor Weisgerber also reached the 20-goal milestone. After scoring 24 goals last year as a rookie, Watson is on pace to post a career high. Wesigerber is four tallies away from setting a new personal best, as well. The sixth-year pro also reached the 300-point milestone (118g-182a) for his career against Colorado and enters the week tied for 20th in the league in scoring with 53 points (20g-33a).
