New York Boulders News Release
Rockland County, NY - The Rockland Boulders are adding some flavor to their 2019 lineup with the signing of the team's newest personality, "Pepper Jack," who will serve as the team's Bat Dog. Pepper will be on hand (or is it, on paw?) for over 20 Boulders home games, including the exhibition game against the NYPD baseball team on Saturday, May 11, and the regular season opener on Thursday, May 16, against the Sussex County Miners.
A three-year old Border Collie, Pepper loves swimming, Frisbee, playing with her brothers Sarge and Eddie, and (of course) Rockland Boulders baseball. In addition to her new duties, she is also a certified therapy dog with K9 Caring Angels.
"Pepper Jack could be the piece we've been looking for," noted team president Shawn Reilly. "She has all the tools to contribute to our lineup, she's great with the fans and comes in with the kind of hunger that every team needs." Team mascot BoulderBird was unavailable for comment, last seen chasing a mischievous Border Collie who was in possession of said mascot's cap.
