Friday was a great day for the RockHounds franchise. About the time that Sockers FC was clinching a berth in the Premier Development League playoffs at home in West Texas, the 'Hounds were rallying back at San Antonio, erasing a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Missions, 5-2.

Trailing, 2-0, entering the seventh inning, the 'Hounds scored five runs on nine hits over the last three innings for the come-from-behind win.

J.P. Sportman and Franklin Barreto (see below) led the comeback, going a combined 6-for-10 with two runs and four RBI. After the 'Hounds loaded the bases with one out in the seventh on singles from Viosergy Rosa, Yairo Munoz and Brett Vertigan, Barreto's sharp ground ball to the left side - which took a nasty hop - drove in two runs, tying the game at 2-2. Vertigan was thrown out trying to advance to third on the play, but Sportman followed with a double into the right field corner, driving in Barreto with what would become the game-winning run.

Matt Chapman's opposite field single to right in the eighth and subsequent stolen base set up the 'Hounds' fourth run, brought home on an RBI single by Munoz. Barreto (double) and Sportman (RBI single) then combined to cap the scoring in the ninth.

Chris Jensen went six strong innings for the win (two runs on five hits and one walk, with four strikeouts), backed by Jake Sanchez (two scoreless innings with no hits, one walk and three K's for the hold) and Bobby Wahl (his fifth save and second in three games in the series).
