Rockford takes down Skyforce

Rockford, IL- After coming off the loss against Dakota this past Thursday, the Rockford Lightning needed to get back on the winning track. They did, fighting off a Sioux Falls rally in the fourth quarter to defeat the Skyforce, 103-98 on Saturday afternoon.

Rockford led 81-69 at the end of the third quarter, but Sioux Falls outscored the Bolts 29-22 in the fourth quarter. The Lightning were led by Stais Boseman, who shot 10-for-19 from the floor to tally up 28 points in the contest. Brant Bailey continued his offensive production as he scored 21 points to help the Lightning to the victory. Cordell Henry added six assists, and Livan Pyfrom hauled down nine boards to help the Lightning cause. Sioux Falls was led by David Jackson, who topped all scorers with 29 points in the contest. Rockford earned six quarter points and increased their quarter point average margin over the Gary Steelheads, who face Sioux Falls Sunday at the Genesis Center.

Rockford faces the Yakima Sun Kings at 3:05 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the MetroCentre.
