Rockford Lightning News Release
Rockford, IL- Rockford had a big win yesterday against the Sioux Falls Skyforce, but a day later it was a different story, as the Lightning fell short to the Yakima Sun Kings. Yakima started the game with eight straight points, and held the Lightning scoreless for the first four minutes of the ball game.
Rockford never managed to recover, despite Marshall Phillips leading the way, shooting 8-for-16 from the field to total 24 points. The Bolts also got a double-double from Jermaine Tate, who led the rebounding with 14 boards to go along with his 10 points in the game. Phillips and Cordell Henry each had six assists on the night for the Lightning. Yakima's win was paced by Noel Felix's 29 points and Jeryl Sasser's 25 points. Rockford earned one quarter point, but remain ahead of Gary, as they only earned 1.5 quarter points in a 91-85 loss to Sioux Falls on Sunday.
