Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs made a series of roster transactions on Friday before the United Hockey League club's two-game homestand. IceHogs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Steve Martinson made the announcements Friday afternoon.
Rockford signed winger Jason Notermann on Friday, last season's leading point scorer. Notermann totaled 81 points last year, third most in a single season in club history. The Rochester, Minn. native is expected to be in the lineup tonight against the Quad City Mallards. Notermann will help fill the gap left when center Steve Yetman opted to fulfill an opportunity in Europe. Yetman was placed on a 45-Day non-roster spot earlier in the week.
Goalie Frederic Cloutier was loaned to the Milwaukee Admirals on Friday morning and headed to Manitoba to join the Admirals who are on a season-long nine-game road swing. Cloutier is the reigning UHL Goalie of the Week and has won three straight games for the IceHogs. The call-up is the second of the season for Cloutier, as he was called-up to the Chicago Wolves earlier in the season. Goalie Eric Pfligler was added to the roster to fill Cloutier's spot.
Also Friday, defenseman Jared Bourassa was traded to the Bloomington PrairieThunder for future considerations. Bourassa had appeared in all 14 Rockford games and had two assists for the IceHogs.
Next Home Game: Friday, Nov. 24 vs. Quad City Mallards. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. The first 1,000 fans to the game that are 21-and-older will receive a Free IceHogs Jersey Koozie courtesy of Bud Light and WIFR 23. Also, the Hogs and the Salvation Army are teaming up for their annual Food Drive. Each fan that brings a can of food to the game will receive a free $9 ticket voucher to the Wednesday, Dec. 13 game vs. Bloomington.
