Rockford IceHogs News Release
Chicago - The Rockford IceHogs, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, announced today in partnership with BMO Harris Bank, that on Feb. 19 the team will host "Sock Drive Night" at the BMO Harris Bank Center. New pairs of children socks will be collected and donated to homeless children in Rockford through Project Undershare. Starting today, donations will be accepted at the BMO Harris Bank Center Box Office, all thirteen BMO Harris Bank branches in Rockford, and the IceHogs game on Feb. 19.
"Every year we look forward to supporting these efforts that mean a lot to us and to our Rockford community," said Andrea Ward, Market President, BMO Harris Bank. "We feel fortunate to be in our fourth year supporting Project Undershare by championing the sock drive donation and encourage everyone to donate a pair of socks to help us reach our goal this year."
Last year, more than 1,500 socks were collected during the donation period. This year, the goal is to collect 2,000 socks for the children that Project Undershare serves.
Fans can take part in the social chatter by posting a picture of them wearing their favorite pair of socks via social media using #BMOSockSelfie. Images will be shared on the videoboard during the game on Sock Drive Night on Feb. 19.
Sock donations will be accepted from Feb. 10 through Friday, Feb. 19 when the IceHogs take on the Manitoba Moose at 7:00 p.m. Individuals who donate a pair of new children's socks will receive an IceHogs ticket voucher for a pre-selected game. Hubert the Lion will be present at the Feb. 19 game to greet and thank the community as the donations are accepted.
Tickets can be purchased at the BMO Harris Bank Center Box Office or any Ticketmaster location, by phone (815 968-5222) or online at www.icehogs.com.
